Impressions – Vibrant Radiance
Now at The Gallery at Dover Station, Impressions – Vibrant Radiance features select works by Jim Rehak and Katie Cassidy. This exhibition celebrates the enduring influence of Impressionism through contemporary interpretations of light, color, and atmosphere.
Jim Rehak, a Seaford, Delaware–based artist, captures the seasonal beauty of the Delmarva Peninsula through plein air landscape painting. Working directly from nature, he paints fields, marshes, farms, rivers, and bays with an emphasis on shifting light—an influence drawn from 19th-century Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. Rehak’s artistic journey began with comic book illustration and evolved during his BFA studies at the Maryland Institute of Art, where he developed a passion for oil painting. His career has spanned portraiture, caricature, illustration, teaching, and design, and his work has been exhibited and awarded throughout Maryland and Delaware.
